History
H.O.P.E Family Center began as an initiative development by the West Philadlephia Empowerment Zone and the Office of Family Center, in March 1996. Children's Service, Inc. (CSI) became the Lead Agency for H.O.P.E Family Center in December, 1996. As one of the oldest African-American child welfare agencies celebrating more than 110 years of service. CSI strongly supportsthe H.O.P.E Family Center's vision to empower families and strengthen the community. Programs and service are free of charge to children, youth, and adults.

GED/ABE & Job readiness Training
GED/ABE Classes
Hours: Tuesday thru Thursday 9-12PM

After School Program/Rays of Hope
African centered, Rites of Passage training and development is a historically African institution for youth. The ultimate purpose is to empower young people with essential skills, knowledge, wisdom, and vaules to fully develop the mind, body, and spirit. Photography and Drama are the two highlights of this program.

Rites of Passage Boys & Girls
African centered, Rites of Passage training and development is a historically African institution for youth. The ultimate purpose is to empower young people with essential skills, knowledge, wisdom, and values to fully develop the mind, body, and spirit.

Mentoring Program
A program designed to assist male students with (limited or no paternal involvement) demonstrating problematic behaviors with anger management, positive conflict resolutions and relationship building.

Women's Chat & Chew
Support group sessions for women centering around areas such as single female parenting, building self-esteem, healthy minds and healthy bodies, caring for the care giver . In addition, to addressing issues of child support, welfare re-form and benefits.

Truancy Managment
Truancy Case Management provides supportive services and advocacy for parents and students within the West Philadelphia Area.

Parent Education
A parent education enrichment program to support caregivers in providing a nurturing and safe environment as their children grow and develop.

Family/TANF Advocacy
On site staff to offer information and confidential assistance with issues such as Day Care, Public Assistance (Sanctions and Appeals, Monthly Reporting, SSI and more). This service is provided Monday thru Thursday 9AM‹5PM.

Case Management
Provide assistance and advocacy to community residents in need of housing, rental assistance, financial benefits, child care, medical benefits and more.

CAPP - Community Asthma Prevention Program
Provides prevention information and education to community residence and children with asthma. Home intervention are completed and prevention materials are provided as needed.

Continuing Adult Education
ABE/GED classes Tues., Wed, and Thurs, 9AM-5PM at Martha Washington Academic Plus.
